Manage transportation support staff consisting of customer service, load planners and administrative assistants. Maintain the Efficiency Improvement Program, perform observations, monitor progress, and offer improvements. Communicate with customer sales representatives to ensure their needs are met on a daily basis. Overall responsibility of ensuring the daily dispatch of the shuttles and expedite fleet is compliant with all state, federal, and company specific regulations. Responsible for support of KQMS. Promotes a safe culture at the site, by implementing and following corporate best practices related to safety and security. Trains and mentors site staff in order to promote the highest level of customer service and individual professional growth Creates a quality focused environment which maximizes Management and staff contributions to KQMS. Responsible for administering discipline and coaching to all associates under his or her direct supervision in a manner consistent with corporate and site guidelines. Provide timely communication to all functional areas within network operations to ensure success with customer requests and meeting planned dispatch times for upcoming loads. Provide coaching and mentoring to all associates under his or her direct supervision to meet performance goals and provide necessary coaching to assist them in meeting goals. Identify root causes for all associates under his or her direct supervision not meeting goals and communicate findings to Assistant Distribution Manager. Responsible for periodic reporting of functional area progress as determined by the Site Leadership Team. Conduct on-going analysis to continuously improve total operations. Gathering and reporting key performance metrics. Assets-utilization-carrier/vendor management-shuttle coordination-Kenco transportation management-POD’s. Audit DOT documentation. Maintain associate schedules to ensure total coverage within the department. Timely and accurate record keeping in accordance with all state and federal regulations as well as company policies: includes DOT reporting, licensing documentation. Ensure that all customer service requirements are communicated to the outbound team. Ability to communicate with various groups. Ensure drivers are thoroughly trained on all aspects of the SOP’s and W.I.’s before going on the road, and continuous improvement. Ensures that drivers have all the necessary tools and information as listed in SOP-7.5.1.010 before they are allowed to go on the road.
